Aspiring Medical Centre is the only approved provider of Immigration eMedical's for Immigration New Zealand in Wanaka.
eMedical is the electronic processing system that is used to record the results of your immigration medical examination and electronically forwarded to Immigration New Zealand on completion.
To make an appointment for an immigration medical, please complete the booking form online. One of our team will contact you within five working days, with details of your appointment. To secure this appointment full payment is required on confirmation of the appointment.
Please telephone reception on 03 4430725 if you cannot attend your appointment. 48 hours’ notice is required, No refund will be provided if you cancel your appointment within 48 hours.
What to bring to your appointment
You must bring your original passport (not a photocopy), and all passports for any children or dependents who are having an immigration medical. If you do not bring your original passport we will be unable to commence the medical your prepayment for this appointment will NOT be refunded to you. Any further eMedical appointment will need to to be rescheduled and you will have to pay the full cost for this appointment.
Please feel free to bring a friend or interpreter along if you think this will make the consultation easier.
What to expect
First you will see the nurse, who will create your eMedical case, they will take your photo and depending on the type of immigration medical, may take blood tests (there is no need to fast please eat as normal) and may record measurements. During this process you may be asked to give a urine specimen, so please have a big drink of water before you come to your appointment. Women cannot be menstruating (having your period) at the time of the consultation, so please check the timing of your appointment is appropriate and advise if not and need an alternative date.
You will then be examined by a doctor.
Please allow an hour and a half for your visit.
We will advise you of the cost of your immigration medical at the time of confirmation of your appointment. The costs is between $240 to $500 depending on what is required from Immigration NZ for your medical*.
*We only complete the medical examination component of your medical. If you require a chest x-ray this can be done at Pacific Radiology, which is located next to us in the Wanaka Lakes Health Centre. There is a separate charge for this service, which is paid directly to Pacific Radiology.
Depending on the outcome of your initial Immigration examination, you may be asked to undertake further tests or be referred to a specialist. In this case, there will be additional costs.
Once we get the results of your blood tests back from the laboratory (this will take a few days) we will complete the eMedical and send it electronically to Immigration New Zealand. We will email you when we have sent your eMedical to Immigration New Zealand and also attach a copy of your blood test results if you have had these done. Immigration New Zealand will contact you regarding the status of your application using the preferred method you have selected during your appointment – usually email or phone.
